WHERE'S MY SON??!! ha. crazy, i know. but hilarious yeah?
that's my update for today. the good thing about blogs is it can be personal ramblings and no-one can criticise it! bbbbyyyeee

lucky number 13

so we're into day 13 of the recording process here at Albert studios in neutral bay sydney. today songs are starting to round out as the last few days we've been adding guitar layers, percussion, more drums, yes, more. vocals for a song or two have been underway and trent is laying down a take now so it's great to have things all coming together..

such as artwork too. and the album name. although both work in progress, they both feel right and suit the album to us..

today it's just me (kg), and trent. sean came in yesterday for overdubs, ed the days before with bass, and now it's guitars until the end of the week when steph and ant will lay down some keys and some more group stuff like clapping the f**k out of some tracks, and tambo. yeah.

we've been here everyday with wayne 'the con man' connolly who is producing the album. he likes to do a lot of improv such as one liners about 'the square people'. you had to be there, no really, you had to be. and engineering is reyne who was once the proud ruler of the fusball table, but has since fallen in defeats to most of us. i know i beat him. beat him good.

so i'm gonna get back to watching some conchords now, until next time

Feel It Leave

This is the clip for Feel It Leave.. It was mostly shot on tour in the US on our hand held, and a large portion of stage footage was shot by our (I'm gonna call him sidekick) good friend Grant Campbell..you will see him close to the end of this clip (although you may mistake him for Billy Corgan).. and we hope you enjoy..

Record: Update 1

One last show now before we prep every song in our list for the album. There's so much creativity coming out of us at the moment that i feel like we'll end up demoing a new album whilst in studio. Alberts has a backroom that we'll definately be using in our spare time to a) sleep in b) do external work c) artwork for the album d) record a batch of demos and e) isolation room.

But this thursday we play a sold out show with Okkervil River which will be awesome to be alongside them, and we'll chuck in a few of the new ones for the sake of guaging the crowds response!

And finally, i'm putting out a dub challenge to the rest of the band.. Via youtube, I'm going to ask those interested in the 'bellies to post a dubbed video from any movie and see if they can get the most hits online.. whether this comes to fruition is another thing!

I'm off to try and find an old casio sound on a new roland and hoping it sound good. We need it for one of our new songs..

Clips 2

And to follow our videos go to this link http://www.youtube.com/user/TheSeabellies

We'll be making more vids nowadays, like in studio, random, basically anything that is deemed to be of/has some entertainment value.

These are the previous clips for 'Heart Heart Heart Out' and 'Prairie'. 'Feel It leave' was done but again a lot more time has passed than anticipated before it came to life. Once it gets the okay from everyone I'll put it up!

Probably the most tiring film clip ever made.. running around the watagan mountains and losing muscle capabilities the following day is always something you should stretch for.

Clips

This is a clip put together by Ben Randall of our track 'Song We Don't Speak Of' from the 2007 EP 'Wave Your Fingers To Make The Winters'. It's an awesome clip that we should have put up ages ago, but it seems we always take months to get videos living online.. well not anymore!
